On Saturday, December 10, Mrs. Coffelt took 8 competitors and 10 timekeepers to Sedalia for a speech and debate tournament at Sacred Heart High School. At the competition, students competed in acting, reading, and speaking events.
All of our students did very well, and the Adrian team made finals in 3 events. Rachel Mann competed at the finalist level for the Radio Speaking. Amina Scaletty competed at the finalist level and won third place for the events Extemporaneous Speaking and Prose Reading. Overall, the Speech and Debate team did very well and intends on competing again in the near future.
The next meeting for the Adrian Speech and Debate Club is Wednesday, December 14 in Mrs. Coffelt´s room at 7:30. If anyone is interested in competing, please feel free to come and learn. We´d love to see you there!
