Balancing School and Sports

by Hunter Steen

With the school year in full swing, we ask one of our top students how he juggles playing football and doing school work. “You just focus on one thing at a time, and no matter what you're doing try your hardest to succeed and find faith in the Lord”, just another great quote from a great man. Cameron while starting for the Adrian Blackhawks, also has a 3.4 GPA, which is not easy. “Sometimes it's a hassle, but you just gotta remember you just gotta follow your heart and follow your faith. If coach tells you to play down hill in a football game then you just gotta do it all night long.” We know that studying is a very key part of school work, so we asked Cameron if it was hard to study with football practice being so long. I heard around the school that Cameron was a bit of a class clown so I asked him if he had ever been in trouble. “Absolutely not I don’t believe in bad things, I believe that if the lord wanted you in a bad situation then he would put you there. The lord will always take care of you no matter what end of story. With basketball coming up Cameron is looking to make a difference in the Varsity squad. “I just like to be a role on the team, you're always gonna have your shot makers, aka the Jeremy Lins of the team, you don’t have to be the greatest player on the court you just have to have the biggest heart on the court.
